Charitable Union was the recipient of the Women of Impact funding at our October 10, 2017 meeting.
The Charitable Union is a non-profit organization that helps provide clothes and bedding to children, families and veterans.
Our donation will be used to purchase coats for the winter coat distribution event.
Last October, they served over 2400 children in the 3-days winter coat for kids distribution event. Children were able to receive winter coats, scarves, mittens and hats.
Founded in 1887, Charitable Union is a non-profit organization that helps provide clothes and bedding to children, families and veterans. Donations from local residents make it possible for them to help more than 11,000 people in Battle Creek and throughout Calhoun County every year. A few things set them apart from other places such as Goodwill and The Salvation Army in Battle Creek. For one, they provide clothes, bedding and household items for free to those in need. They also help people prepare for independence and self-sufficiency so they won’t need the Charitable Union’s anymore—allowing them to continually help new people who need their services.
