The Community Breakfast Program of St. Thomas Episcopal Church was the recipient of the Women of Impact funding at our January 12, 2021 meeting.
Our meeting was timely for the St Thomas Breakfast Program as their commercial refrigerator broke down on Monday. They purchased a new one on a credit card having faith that money to pay for it would arrive through some means – their budget didn’t have enough funds to cover the cost. Since they serve meals to the public, a commercial refrigerator is required by the county health department.
They have been hard hit with additional costs since all meals now need to be served in disposable containers instead of washable table settings. This has tripled the cost of their meals. Any money above the cost of the refrigerator will be used to support the meal program.
The Community Breakfast Program provides a free, substantial, healthy breakfast for those in need right in our community. This summer program provides an important bridge for children who receive their breakfast through their school during the school year.
Please donate by visiting https://onrealm.org/stthomasbc/-/give/now and select Breakfast Program from the Fund drop down box next to the contribution amount.
If you prefer to write a check, make it out to St Thomas Episcopal Church with “WOI – Breakfast Program” in the memo. Send it directly to the church. Since we aren’t collecting checks at the meeting, it doesn’t make sense to be in the middle.
